When is the last time you completed a self-assessment? Self-assessments are vital, and they will require you to step away from the busyness of the day to focus on you. The pace of the world, most times is fast, many are gasping for air to keep up with trends. It seems as if the goal is to be relevant by clicks for likes and hearts on social media while overlooking the heart and likes of self. Newsflash: You are trending, and you are a BIG deal. Take you seriously.

In the fitness industry, multiple health assessments are used to address client’s concerns and to identify ways to enhance one’s overall health. The rapper Ice Cube created a song, “Check yourself before you wreck yourself.” In other words, take time to get to know thyself, dive into you; identify people, places, and things that may cause dis-eases in your life. Take preventative measures, reserve time for you and reach out for the help that you need.

The distance between where you are now and where you want to be will take consistency to achieve.

Stages of Change

The stages of change model have been used for decades for a variety of reasons. It addresses the status and behavior of a person. The stages of change are Pre-contemplation, Contemplation, Preparation, Action, and Maintenance. What’s your current stage of change? Pre-contemplation means that you don’t feel that any changes are necessary. Contemplation means that you are aware that changes are needed and actually thinking about making them. Preparation means that you have intentions and planning to make changes. Action means that you are making changes that are beneficial to your life. Maintenance means that you are consistently working on those changes, it is now a part of your lifestyle. Assessing your location is important.
